Find A Grave: Unfourtantly many of the WW2 Veterans are getting fewer by the day. Many who served their loved ones will apply for a military headstone that will contain basic information. Name -Birthday-Death -Branch of Service and sometimes the Unit they served with.

If you can find the Unit they served with that can save money. Although not all documents are in the digital archives of the National Archives Web Data Base many are.

Unit/Company website there are quite a few websites that have been built and contain tons of information -reports-photos-meetups. Old Hickory for the 30th Infantry is a great resource site for Europe and WW2 and it covers more than just 30th Infantry by itself they have included informations for 116th,117th,120th , 823rd TD. The list goes on. Individual Units supported others and would sometimes rotate out. This is why tracking is important hard but important. Example Henry was a 823rd Tank Destroyer also known by the code name Anzac. https://tankdestroyer.net/units/battalions800s/281-823rd-tank-destroyer-battalion/ is a great resource to TDs. Henry was assigned to the 823rd MOS of Communications Chief Rank T/5 when he got out. During his time with the 823rd who was assigned to work with the 30th Infantry he found himself part of Company C and even broken down in to Platoons to carry out diffirent missions. During diffrent battles they all played the part assigned.
